The project area was visited by the DG of IMED-04 on 20th May 2023. He was accompanied by the project director and assistant engineer of PMU. He visited different sites in the Project area and he was informed of the progress of the project.

Eng. Md. Rafius Sazzad, PEng, joined as Project Director of Irrigation Management Improvement Project for Muhuri Irrigation Project on 31st July 2018. Prior to joining the current post, he was Executive Engineer and Additional Chief Engineer (additional responsibilities) of Irrigation Management Improvement Project for Muhuri Irrigation Project. He graduated with a BSc in Civil Engineering from KUET and received his PG Diploma (WRMS) in 2005 from the Hydroaid Institute in Italy. He joined the Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) in 1993 as an Assistant Engineer. He has been served efficiently in various important river bank conservation, irrigation, flood control, and drainage projects of BWDB. During his tenure at the BWDB, he participated in various seminars in Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Italy, France, and the Netherlands. He is a professional engineer and life fellow of IEB. He was born in 1968 in the Cumilla district to an aristocratic Muslim family.
