Urgent Office Order During Irrigation Season 2023-24

This is notified to all concerned that this is the peak season for irrigation in Muhuri
Irrigation Project. As of date, 560nos of schemes are electrified (although some schemes
are not in place with transformers and some schemes’ pipelines are damaged with public
cut). It is utmost needed to operate all the schemes in this irrigation season. So, C-IMO Consultants & PIU, BWDB officials must be more vigilant during this period and remain stationed accordingly. A11 of them are requested to seek prior approval
from the undersigned before departing from their assigned stations, in case of urgency.
This office instruction would be effective immediately.

Eng. Md. Rafius Sazzad, PEng, joined as Project Director of Irrigation Management Improvement Project for Muhuri Irrigation Project on 31st July 2018. He is an Additional Chief Engineer in Bangladesh Water Development Board Prior to joining the current post, he worked as a Superintendent Engineer and Executive Engineer of Irrigation Management Improvement Project for Muhuri Irrigation Project. Apart from this project, he worked in different offices of Bangladesh Water Development Board. He graduated with a BSc in Civil Engineering from KUET and received his PG Diploma (WRMS) in 2005 from the Hydroaid Institute in Italy. He joined the Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) in 1993 as an Assistant Engineer. He has been served efficiently in various important river bank conservation, irrigation, flood control, and drainage projects of BWDB. During his tenure at the BWDB, he participated in various seminars in Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Italy, France, and the Netherlands. He is a professional engineer and life fellow of IEB. He was born in 1968 in the Cumilla district to an aristocratic Muslim family.
